What are "MIT STE@M DAYS 2016"?
This is the flagship event of MIT’s Sports Technology program. It brings together a curated group of doers - those in industry and academia who have big visions and are on the forefront of their disciplines. It is an opportunity for all of our affiliates, supporters, and members of the MIT community to come to campus and share advances, challenges and passions that lie at the intersection of engineering and sports.
Who should attend?
Affiliates and partners of the program will get a glimpse into the future of sports technology in a variety of areas, from advanced functional fibers to big data and analytics. You will get to meet faculty, students and startups working in these areas.
Students interested in sports technology can hear from world-class thought leaders from both industry and academia about exciting new research and development that will revolutionize the sports industry.

Program details
This year, by popular request, we have expanded our STE@M Days activities and added a variety of different ways to participate:
Sports Tech Summit. The Summit will consist of an afternoon of short talks by program affiliates, MIT students, faculty and postdocs, start-ups and other leading figures in the Sport Tech community. (There are limited spaced available for contributed talks. If you would like to showcase your work at the Summit you will be asked to provide a tentative title when you register. Accepted speakers will be informed by April 1.)
Engineering Petting Zoo (EPZ). The Zoo will allow our program affiliates and visiting companies to acquaint MIT students, faculty, and alums with technical challenges they face in their respective industries, converse with students about careers in sports tech fields, and explore opportunities for collaboration with MIT.
Lab tours (open to affiliates or partners supporting graduate research only). Lab tours provide an opportunity for our affiliates to visit our facilities and glimpse the future of technological innovation. We will open up our labs to give our affiliates the opportunity to meet students and faculty, form new partnerships and collaborations, and get an exclusive look at technologies under development.
Sidebars (open to affiliates or partners supporting graduate research only). Sidebars will provide MIT faculty and students with opportunities to meet one-on-one with program affiliates to privately pitch ideas for collaboration. MIT members who wish to meet with affiliate partners can sign up when they register. The number of slots is limited and will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis.
